Swampy’s #Florida Postcards: Downtown Tampa, 1960s.
From the Platt Street Bridge is a view of Downtown Tampa. Below the bridge is the Hillsborough River. Practically everything in view here is gone now. There is no date on this postcard, but guesstimating from the structures that this is from the early ’60s. Do you all agree?
This is a mere 3 blocks from where the Republican National Convention is happening at this time (August 30th, 2012). Because of the convention the bridge is closed to vehicular traffic.
