At one time Sulphur Springs, now engulfed by the City of Tampa, was an individual community in the early years of the 20th century. Now the community is mostly residential. Though, there are still remnants of, what was a bustling commercial area. One of the neat structures still standing is the former Sulphur Springs Theatre.

There was to be a history museum of the area that still hopes to open in nearby Mann-Wagnon Memorial Park as financing becomes available. Tom Ross of Community Stepping Stones, who occupy a structure in the park, told me of plans the City of Tampa has of demolishing the 1930 structured on the park site to build more of a community center. This puts the museum more in question . Tom mentioned hopes of moving some of the historic structures to another location to save them.
