Here’s a brochure for the former Howard Johnson’s that used to stand in Pompano Beach at the corner of Atlantic Blvd. and Pompano Beach Blvd. The rate card that is with the brochure is dated 1981.
The building is gone now and in it’s place is another structure named the Plaza Oceanside that takes up four times the area that Howard Johnson’s did. Below is an aerial of what stands in the spot today.

Your map is incorrect. Also the Plaza at Oceanside is not where the PB HOJO was. The former location of the HOJO is now a parking lot. The Plaza at Oceanside is across the street at the former location of the Oceanside Plaza Shopping Center.
You are correct Rick. All that’s left of the Pompano Beach HOJO is a parking lot. Our family went to this HOJO every summer and some winters as well. I remember the sea turtle hatchling sanctuary just across the street towards the ocean side. Many great memories but it all looks different now. I loved the elevated pool deck here. Will miss those vacations forever.
