This postcard mailed in 1972 is of the east garden of the Kapok Tree Inn in Clearwater. The giant statuary holding the ferns is the ‘Three Graces’. The statue is of German origin from sometime in the 1700s.

The postcard mailed from Fort Myers to Mr. and Mrs. Darwin Folbrath in Anoka, Minnesota. The Diessners write that they are in Florida visiting friends in Bradenton and Clearwater. They loved the Kapok Tree Inn and write that dinner was composed of “good food at a reasonable price.” Something I’ve missed about the location the couple notes here that “They seat 1600 people at one time.”

This postcard is part of the Swampy’s Florida collection.
