This is the Congregational Church in Coral Gables. The structure is the oldest established building (1923) in Coral Gables. It was built by Coral Gables developer George Merrick in honor of his father, who was a Congregational Minister. The church was part of the huge project of Coral Gables that still thrives today with most all of the buildings Merrick built still standing. My family is from Coral Gables and lived and worked in Merrick’s city.
This postcard wasn’t mailed but it would appear to be from around the 1940s.

Knowing the area rather well and seeing the website, I’d say this church sure has taken a turn somewhere along the way away from what it once was.

This postcard is part of the Swampy’s Florida collection.
