Charlie’s Bakery is an outgrowth of Miami Beach’s Wolfie’s. Charlie Hawks baked there since the early ’50s before opening Charlie’s in Orlando in 1971. Quite a bold move considering the legendary Ronnie’s was only a mile away. That’s something old time Orlandoans would understand.
