Swampy’s #Florida Movies: ‘Mr. Bug Goes to Town’.
‘Mr. Bug Goes to Town’ is a terrific cartoon about a village of insects who find themselves in the midst of human encroachment. Hoppity, the bug, is the ne’er-do-well who works to get them out of trouble.
The animated film was created in Miami by the Fleischer Studios that had recently moved from New York City.
The film was a reworking of the Frank Capra film, ‘Mr. Deeds Goes to Town”.
Watch for it on Turner Classic Movies: TCM and local video stores. Being on the road, I noticed it was coming up on TCM, but got away from me to let you all know. I’ll work to do better to let you all know about obscure Florida films showing on television.
