It’s, one of Swampy’s heroes, Zora Neale Hurston’s 125th birthday today! Proud to have been a small part of starting the Zora Neale Hurston Festival of the Arts and Humanities years ago. If you’re not acquainted with Hurston’s writings might I suggest this Viking collection of her work. For the best biography of Zora, find ‘Wrapped Up in Rainbows’ by Valerie Boyd. Zora’s ‘Dust Tracks on the Road’ is more of a fictionalized biography of her life. Funny how many writers fictionalized their autobiographies.
