This restaurant was around for a looooooong time at what is now the Orlando Executive Airport. The building still exists and the Skyline area, I believe is used for office space. This is from an Orlando – Winter Park Attraction Guide from 1962.
If you have any memories of this ‘The Skyline’ or Orlando, please feel free to leave them here!
My group of NAACP teen activists conducted regular sit-ins at the Skyline during the early 60’s but owner Champ Williams refused to serve black customers until the Civil Rights Act was passed in 1964.
When the restaurant finally integrated my wife and I dined there frequently during the late 60’s and 70’s because the Skyline was best buffet in town.
