Swampy’s #Florida was at the Dory Funk Arena where, even at 74, Dory Funk, Jr. still wrestles.
Only heard about him on Thursday and that his training and competitive arena is in a warehouse area of Ocala. So I tore out of Pioneer Days and raced to a special wrestling bout helping to raise funds for the Special Olympics.
Got a chance to meet Funk and hear a couple neat stories of him growing up along Lake Panasofkee in the 1950s. Looking forward to meeting and speaking with him again soon!
