Swampy’s #Florida says Happy World Octopus Day!
Swampy celebrates World Octopus Day with Usina, the St. Augustine Monster.
Besides the legend of the Swamp Ape in Florida is the legend of the St. Augustine Monster. It was in 1896 that a huge octopus-looking creature washed ashore the cost of St. Augustine. It was named the St Augustine Monster. At the time, and for most of a century later, parts of what washed up on shore were examined and determined to be of a giant octopus. It’s been more recently that scientists have decided that the St Augustine Monster was really a whale.
Swampy and Usina would like to disagree, but why spoil science fun? 😉
