Here’s what’s playing at the Outdoor Theatre in Clearwater during this past weekend in 1957. This is a small hand card that had been passed out to movie goers at the theater.

Note the amount of western films!
My how times have changed! Or have they?
Are the super hero films of today just a variation of the western films?
I find the super hero/science fiction films of today the same as B films – just outrageously more expensive.

The backside advertises various businesses and the opportunity to visit them and see a movie Free!

I believe all of these businesses are no longer with us. The drive-in is now gone, too.

There had been a “Harrell Home Services” that appears to have closed sometime around 2017. Can’t find a history, but could be the same company with different owners.

Found a link for the ‘Harrell’s Plumbing of one of the owners. Ruth Marguerite Perkins was born in Oakland, Florida, in western Orange County, and met the Leavy Harrell in Largo, married in 1938 and they opened and ran the company. They both did more than that. Here’s the obituary with her story: https://www.legacy.com/us/obituaries/tampabaytimes/name/ruth-harrell-obituary?pid=158059259
There has been a Harrell’s Plumbing in Orange County, once based on East Colonial Drive, but unclear if there is a connection.
Though both Harrells involved served in government, Pinellas and Orange counties.
