Clearwater Federal Savings in Largo, 1960s. – Swampy’s Florida Postcards.
Here’s an undated postcard of the Clearwater Federal Savings building, 1180 Jasper Street, in Largo. This is among the many, many, many independent banks now gobbled up by the international banking system. Just by seeing the current view of the building available using Google, you can see how fast the buying and selling of banks can occur. Here’s the image:
This building is now a Wells Fargo bank. For a short while in 2012 it was a Wachovia Bank before Wells Fargo bought them.
Thankfully, so far, Wells Fargo has kept the branch, even though the building is on a side road. Our state has lost a lot of these architecturally neat 1960s buildings.
You can see the street view of where this building is located in the right bottom corner, by clicking the corner of the box.
