Swampy’s Florida Outdoors Everyday: along the Suwannee River in Fanning Springs.
A sight of the Suwannee River from Fort Fanning Historical Park, right off US19. This is 30 miles east of where the river streams into the Gulf of Mexico.
3 miles northeast of here along the river is where a steamboat, the ‘City of Hawkinsville’, sunk around 1922. There’s a historic marker on land of the underwater remnants of the ship.
