Swampy’s Florida Postcards: Swimming Lake Estelle in Orlando, 1951.
Lake Estelle, at the northern-most city limits of the City of Orlando, was a popular spot for getting all wet. I have and have had friends who frequented the lake for all kinds of shenanigans before and around this time.
Do you have memories of fun in Florida lakes?
This postcard was from Orlando, June 9th, 1951. Scottie dated the card June 8th. He sent it to Mrs. Panzy Hutchin in Princeton, Indiana.
Scottie writes, ” Guess you’ll wonder who this is from.” Hmmmm.
The note on the back continues, but is diffivult to understand due to Scottie’s poor pencil-manship and the postmark is on top of key words to make sense of his writing.
This postcard is part of the Swampy’s Florida collection.
