Killer Catfish Stabbing Floridians.
I’m reading comments to this story that the readers did believe they were going to read of attacking catfish or of someone calling themselves ‘Cafish’, stabbing children. Egads!
We’ve experienced these stories too often in our wild and woolly state.
If there is any more evidence needed that the Media is out to manipulate us, is this story of, seemingly, killer catfish.
Still another misleading headline of a Florida story.
A long time complaint has been the stories of ‘Train Crashing into Cars’, without pointing out that trains do not hide behind bushes and jump out to hit cars. Any more than catfish do.
Some of these catfish stabbing stories are written as if catfish are a danger to our state. Instead of focusing that catfish pricking humans is extremely rare and, pretty much, never reported.
Little detail is included. What I can garner from many stories is that the accident, and that is all this is, happened to a 10 year old near New Port Richey, along U.S.19 in a pond.
THERE is a critical element. Ponds in that area along U.S.19 are just about all borrow-pits to build some portion of U.S.19 in the past. Those are stocked with fish. Especially catfish, with the idea of the scaled ones helping keep the ponds cleaner than otherwise. If it’s a pond by a residential development I’m thinking of, most who fish there live in the development.
Not certain of the above, as the location has not been revealed. Is that because the truth of the story would ruin the sensational edge?
A reason I don’t post ‘Florida Man’ stories is that most are blown way out of proportion. Once known as ‘Yellow Journalism’. It sells, so, it continues.
Are we soon to see ‘Florida Fish’?
