Florida Books – Blackwater Sound by James W. Hall
Blackwater Sound is another pulse pounding thriller from James W. Hall. I love the way Hall dovetails techy gizmos carried by the bad guys in his stories. Even better is the way non-techy hero, Thorn, has to save the day.
By the way, Blackwater Sound is just south of US 1 as it becomes the Overseas Highway. Blackwater Sound is a mostly enclosed very large pond across US 1 from John Pennecamp Coral Reef State Park.

This story involves a family who is more than the usual dysfunctional family. A family member dies in a marlin fishing incident. An invention by the dead family member becomes a terrorist threat as the family looks to profit from his inventions. The story charges from there.
The story involves Florida locations from Palm Beach to the Keys and, of course, Blackwater Sound. Interesting that Hall’s book came out on the fringe of September 11th.
