Swampy’s Historic Photos: Downtown Fort Myers, 1925.
Downtown Fort Myers in 1925. There’s the Lee County Bank, which had the post office in inside at the time. The Edison Theatre played silent movies.
This photo is from ‘Yesterday’s Fort Myers’ by Marian Godown & Alberta Rawchuck.

The Edison Theater building was built in 1941. There was a wood-frame 2-story hardware store on the site before that.
So…this photo wasn’t taken in 1925.
Hello- do you know where I can purchase a large print of this picture?
Rob!
I’m sorry, I don’t know where you can get a large copy of this photograph. As noted, it’s from ‘Yesterday’s Fort Myers’, which I don’t believe is available anymore. My copy is around 40 years old.
