Swampy’s Travels: Red Mango, Gainesville.
‘The Red Mango’ is a yogurt and smoothie shop that has gone from national, out of state owned to locally owned and Gainesville is lucky to have them. The shop is located just off the food court in The Oaks Mall, not far off US75 on Newberry Road.
They opened a few years ago out of state and with the mall location and a Downtown Gainesville location. The original owner has sold the remaining location to a fellow in Gainesville.
You might notice the toy gorilla on the glass counter top. There are a few around. A child left the one seen in the photo at the Downtown location. Others brought a couple more in. When the Downtown store closed the toy gorillas were moved to The Oaks Mall location and are now affectionately known as the “Red Mangorillas”.
