South along Hogan’s Creek, Jacksonville, 1910. – Swampy’s Florida Postcards.
This appears to be Hogan’s Creek looking south into Downtown. This would’ve been 9 years after the fire that destroyed much of Downtown.
The creek is still roaming northerly and southerly through the city. It feeds into the St johns River. The best access to the creek, much of it now canaled, can be seen via a number of parks north of Downtown. The very large Henry J. Klutho Park and Confederate Park are two of the best.
This postcard is from 1910 when mailed items didn’t need a city note. For instance on the back of this postmarked card is simply “City”. What “City” I don’t know.
This postcard is part of the Swampy’s Florida collection.
