Swampy, the Swampy Ape, and everything Celebrating Florida!
Born in 59 I remember going to the location in Florida (Vero Beawhen I was about 9 to 11. I can remember feeling so very sorry for the “the fish” I thought at that time. Some how I knew different because of the way the way the men kept hitting the fish. Of course now at age 55 I know that I was the original Shamo and cattle likely cattle prods. Only later d I d the trainers figure out that positive reinforced behavior worked best. For so many years in a substandard cage the handlers widened and made deeper enclourses.. Today at Sea World I am happy to see the care so much better. Still part of me wishes we would just leave the animals ALONE! Use any money to the Bob Barker and other types to stop the capture of these mammals for our circus enjoyment.
