Swampy’s #Florida Ads: #Elvis Presley Museum, #Orlando
The Elvis Presley Museum was on a loop road off International Drive in Orlando. It was run by Elvis friend and untra-fan, Jimmy Tennant, who was also known as Jimmy Velvet. The museum had the support of the Presley family.
I seem to recall this opened after Elvis’ death and was around until the early ’80s, when this brochure was attained by me. Later a second one opened in Kissimmee. Seems it was there for more than a decade. Velvet ran into financial difficulties and sold off parts of what made up the museum. Eventually Velvet ended up in Las Vegas, where he is today. I remember going down a highway and saw the Lisa Marie….early 80’s..
I stopped and there was a red 55or56 T bird with ELVIS tag on it.
It was not opened yet but the owner let me look around..Maybe it was Velvet…
