Miracle Mile, Coral Gables, 1940s. – Swampy’s #Florida Postcards: Miracle Mile, Coral Gables. 1940s.
This is a view from about midway on the Mile, looking east towards Douglas Boulevard.
The structures are mostly still there over 80 years later. Even parking is as shown. The “Air Conditioned” pharmacy in the bottom left corner was a Rexall store.
Remember going in there decades ago. One of those places where walking in from the heat into the very contained cold air conditioning and the smell of a pharmacy mixed to stay in the memory. That seems to be a scent gone forever.
Do you remember the pharmacy scent?
This postcard is part of the Swampy’s Florida collection.
