Swampy’s Travels: Ocali Days in Silver River State Park
Swampy visits the 2010 Ocali Days in Silver River State Park near Ocala. Above the Swamp Ape meets the Swamp Frog, as he called himself.
There are all sorts of re-enactors throughout Ocali Days mostly representing the days of the Seminole indian wars in the first have of the 19th century in Florida.
In the Cracker Cattle Camp Swampy visits a Cracker horse.
Here’s one of the Cracker camps at Ocali Days.
Willie, above, works on a real log cabin as would have been built in the mid-1800s at Ocali Days.
While at Silver River State Park, Swampy takes the Sandhill Trail. It’s a 1.5 mile trail that more resembles a long driveway. Too much of it is a service road.
A small part of the Sandhill Trail is a natural trail and not just a driven over bundle of sifting sand.
