Swampy’s Florida Historic Photos: Cigar Store, Jacksonville, 1890s.
Jose Huau’s cigar store in Jacksonville at the corner of Bay Street and Pine Street in the 1890s. Huau ran this store and also was an agent of Cuban Junta involving the Spanish-American War. I was at his store that Napoleon Bonaparte Broward (Later Florida Governor and namesake of Broward County.) had a meeting agreeing to sneak munitions from the U.S. to Cuba for a revolution.
