This photo is of the Strayhorns sometime in the early half of the 1900s.
The photo has no other information, but this is curious. Due to how photography was done at the time, this had to be posed. But, why? The Strayhorns must’ve known and that information never was carried along with the photos, it appears. It wppears those who included this in their book didn’t even have a year this was taken. The photo is interesting.

Considering the appearance of the photograph, one might think this was a hunting or fishing trip, but most like to display their implements of the action. Why is the car covered? Again, those out sporting would do this as a way to camp overnight. The young fellow seated to the right appears to be holding a rope.
Curiouser and curiouser.

All this comes back to something I bring up from time to time: Please label your photographs with names, dates, locations and what is going on. Though most of us, these days have a gabillion photographs, a few really are important and will last long beyond our time. Those we need to be sure to set aside, pass on to younger generations and be careful to label with pertinent information.
