Swampy’s Postcard Thursday: Ferry on the Ocklawaha River.
It’s the Grahamville ready to take passengers across the Ocklwaha River. The community of Grahamville is now gone from signs and maps. The area is along the Ocklawaha River and Salt Springs Highway in Marion County northeast of Silver Springs.
This postcard wasn’t mailed but has a “from “Billie Kochase”” on the front and on the back is “Miss Momye Sue McGhee Rex Timm”. Otherwise this postcard appears to be from around 1900 to 1910.

Here comes No. 92, the Silver Star, arriving in Winter Park….. And a photo of the same No. 92 with some new passengers aboard and a few departed heading north to DeLand, Palatka, Jacksonville and then on north.
