The First United Methodist Church of Okeechobee was built in 1924 as the Methodist Episcopal Church South.
There’s a back wing for Sunday school that appears to have been built around 1960. Speaking to many in the church, little is known about the structure. Pastor Bruce tells me that they are celebrating their hundredth year in 1915. He’s been told that is the date, but isn’t sure why.
The last photo is of the organ inside. Pastor Bruce tells me it was recently taken apart and fully restored.
