Swampy made his way into the Ocala National Forest to join the Florida Trail Association and their 27th year of celebrating at the Lake Doe Campground. Above is the sun setting on Lake Doe.
Below is the boat seat dropped at the stroke of midnight each December 31st and this one in 2010. Thanks to the fellow who assisted Swampy.
This Weeki Wachee postcard postmarked 1966 is of Weeki Wachee without the mermaids! The famous underwater theater is the white structure in the background to the left. The beach area where the ladies are sitting is now Buccaneer Bay.
The earliest section constructed of what would become ‘The Florida East Coast Railway’ was the St. Johns Railway in St. Johns County in 1858. The section ran from the now forgotten community of Tocoi to St. Augustine.
