Farming was and is one of the three pedestals that holds the Florida economy up. As critical today as in 1900.
The area in and north of Pensacola had traditional farming better established in the 1800s than what later appeared on the peninsula. There are still remnants of that farming at various historic sites in Escambia County, the Pensacola Museum of History and the Pensacola Historic Village in Downtown Pensacola.
