Found this amongst the cartoons on the comics pages of the Sarasota Journal: Alvin & Bert. This used to be a common sight in the comics section a long time ago. Kept many a cartoonist busy across the U.S. These advertising cartoons also paid the cartoonist many times more than others would make from one syndicated comic strip in the newspaper.
Since this is from a Sarasota newspaper, have to wonder if a Ringling College of Art and Design student might have been hired to draw this.
