Swampy’s friend Cynthia Graham and Lu Vickers are debuting and signing their new book ‘Paradise Park’ this Saturday from 1pm until 3 at Silver Springs State Park.

5656 East Silver Springs Blvd, Silver Springs, Florida
Free with regular park admission. In support of international literacy day, any visitor who brings a library card, a library book or who donates a new or gently-used, family friendly book will receive free entrance.”

The book is the story of the other Silver Springs. The one specifically for the black community that opened in 1949. Cynthia tells me she has been working on this book for more than ten years. It was when she met writer, and one time Weeki Wachee mermaid, Lu Vickers that her dream of this book came together.

I haven’t seen the book, but considering Vickers previous books with University of Florida, i can only imagine how great it is with text and images.
