2015-1230-Orlando-LastOrangeGrove

Here’s the last grove that stood along South Orange Avenue and Michigan Avenue in Orlando in 1975. Mrs. Compton had until it was sold not long after this photograph and a Skaggs Albertsons super market was built. Today the site has a Wal-Mart grocery store in it’s place.

Beside the grove is a strip mall that once housed Publix super market. You can see the edge of the building peaking on the left side of the photograph. The One Hour Photo moved across the street as did, i believe, Angie’s Beauty Salon.

This photo is from Countdown for Agriculture in Orange County, Florida
by Henry F. Swanson.
