Here’s North Miami Avenue about 1900 where C. Cone’s ‘Blacksmith and Wheel Wright’ has recently opened. You can see that Mr. Cone has plenty of work to do with the wagon and wheels around the building. Also, looks like some work was being done involving laying a water line .

The cross street is First Street. Across that street, the next building over from Cone’s, is ‘Groceries and Grain’ run by the Gautiers. A boarding house was upstairs where a porch is perched adorned with by various plants that Mrs. Gautier cared for along with the boarding house.

This photo is from ‘Yesterday’s Miami’ by Nixon Smiley.
