It’s been over a month since the Marion Theater reopened in all it’s glory. It’s one of a handful of grand dames of the early theatre set in Florida to be showing first run films.

The theater originally opened  with with “Aloma of the South Seas” starring Dorothy Lamour,  September 11th, 1941. It has been one of a half dozen or so theaters that have been in Ocala, not including two drive-ins.

The deco style of the structure is a marvelous site to see open and in business on the streets of Florida.
