This brochure for the Upper Keys (From the Card Sound curve to Long Key) has a nifty cover illustration and a pretty routine layout otherwise.
Though fishing is far less popular than it was decades ago, there’s still plenty of folks heading to all of the Keys seeking a charter to chop the Florida Straits, drop a line and nab a finned giant for show.
The flip side of the brochure has entries unlikely to be found in a brochure made for the same area today. For instance, ‘Churches’ at the top over ‘Gift Shops’ under ‘Facilities’.
Under ‘Recreation’ is ‘Bowling Alley’.
“Let’s go to the Keys and bowl!” is not thought today as a thing to say while speeding to the Keys.
Though, I found there are 10 bowling alleys today in little Islamorada alone!
