Swampy’s Florida Outdoors Everyday along a trail at Shady Brook Park in Sumter County.
Starting today a few photos from an obscure park in Sumter County.
The address is: 1015 US-301, Sumterville 33585
This park is an oddity. it still exists since this photo was taken in 2017. However, then and now, the park has been abandoned. It’s no longer listed on Sumter County’s park list. There is another park using most of the name, Shady Brook Greenway Park. The problem with that park listing on the Sumter County website, is that the address is wrong and the photo looks more like the boat ramp at the same park as the one above.
Nosing around about this park and so much other knowledge I have of the county, is that Sumter County has sold it’s soul to The Villages, which is creeping up towards the park above. Besides The Villages area, the county generally ignores the bulk of the rest of the county. This photo and the ones in the next couple of days are evidence of that.
