Of postcards of the actual city of Orlando, Lake Eola is prominent in number. This one, from 1938, displays a small amount of the flowers that once graced the park. This showing the sweet pea wall that was visible from Rosalind Avenue, that borders the park.

Here’s a postcard mailed December 7th, 1938 from Orlando to Richmond, Virginia. It’s sent to Virginia, or Mrs. Thomas Purdy. The card is sent by ‘Cousin G[?]’ and it’s very hard to read ‘Cousin’s note. Though I believe I do read ‘Cousin’ praising hibiscus and poinsettia found.

This postcard is part of the Swampy’s Florida collection.
