One of the more popular advertising gimmicks across Florida in the 20th century was the sales place mat. Businesses might take the entire image area of the mat. More often, and most popular, was the Florida place mat with photographic or illustrative versions of Florida.

This one, in the Swampy’s Florida collection, was picked up in the mid-80s in College Park in Orlando.
Must be from the late ’60s. None of that Disney nonsense included. There are 2 photos of St. Augustine and one of Marineland.

Have to sonder where this was attained. College Park? Winter Park? Many diners around those areas back then. Curiouser and Curiouser.

This place mat is part of the Swampy’s Florida collection.
