Here’s “Leon the Fruit Man” with crates of citrus waiting to picked up on N. Orange Avenue in the heart of Downtown Orlando in 1937. Leon Kazanzas got orders from visitors and residents to ship citrus to friends and relatives out of state. Leon’s son, Jack, was a friend of Swampy and the power who revived the annual Christmas Star being setup on Orange Avenue, just two blocks from his father’s old business, each Christmas.

Jack Kazanzas died on this date in 2010.

The photo is from ‘Orlando – City of Dreams’ by, another Swampy friend, Joy Wallace Dickinson.
