Swampy’s Historic Photos: Sears, Orlando Fashion Square Mall, 1963.
To go along with the earlier post, here’s Sears at Fashion Square Mall. The first Sears in Orlando was in Downtown Orlando on Orange Avenue. It stood just to the left of where the people are walking across the street in the posting before this. The building above opened as a free standing building just a few miles away. In 1973 the Fashion Square Mall was finished being built to connect to the Sears building. It was at about this time the Downtown Orlando Sears was closed. The Orlando Fashion Square and the Sears are still there and Sears will celebrate 50 years in the location next year.
