Here is a place many in Coral Gables and southern Miami learned how to swim. It is right in the midst of a residential neighborhood and has always been a highlight of Coral Gables. It is still open today and is nearly just as you see here in this postcard.

The area was dug up in the 1920s to build the development to be known as Coral Gables by George Merrick. The quarry was filled with water and additional construction of the natural limestone created diving areas, bridges and cave-like areas that became hollowed out spots to sell candy and snacks, restrooms and changing areas.

Seems to me this unmarked card is from the 1930s.

This postcard is part of the Swampy’s Florida collection.
