Swampy Live: finds Santas at The Oaks Mall in Gainesville!
Found the first and only Santa decorations in any store at any of the seven malls visited around the state so far. It’s independently and locally owned ‘Prestige Jeweler’. They have these ornamental Santas in their window that blend perfectly with the jewelry being offered. In another window are small, cute Santa ornaments dancing amongst the jewelry.
Prestige Jeweler has been serving Alachua County since it opened 23 years ago by Prim Jotwani.
The mall also has some pretty good decorations. See the tree trio below.
Something else I noticed about the store is that it has been consistently busy as I spoke and took photos. This mall, in general, is busier than all the other malls I’ve been in. Especially compared to last nights Orlando Fashion Square where no one store was recognized and given a Swampy card. There are three stores in The Oaks Mall that I found competing for most Christmasy. The other two was the clothes store chain ‘Express’ and locally own ‘Belvah Collection’ that offers stylish purses and backpacks.
