Here’s a Silver Springs postcard from sometime in the 1970s when the American Broadcasting Company owned the amusement and natural attraction.

“Quiet, elctrically-propelled glass bottom boats” is stated on the back of the card. Also, “Florida’s Silver Springs, with it’s 100 acre landscape park and six outstanding attractions is a photographers paradise. The famous glass bottom boat ride is the feature attraction of this famous resort.”

Tonight at 7pm at Vanguard High School in Ocala is a public meeting about the State of Florida’s plans for the future of Silver Springs. If you’re in the area, come out and learn of the plans. Public input will be available.
