Knowing the area over the decades, this unmarked postcard appears to be of the southeast corner of Lake Eola. Maybe along Central Boulevard. It appears to be from around 1910.

If you look close you can see two trails to the right of the lake. The one closest is about where the current paved sidewalk is. The other trail is around where the children’s playground is now. That natural trail was never developed further.

If this isn’t the southeast corner, then it would be the northwest corner along Robinson Street. However, my studies indicate it isn’t. Also my conversations with my friend Lucile Fair, who was born in 1908, well remembered Robinson as they lived right there. This image doesn’t meet her descriptions of the 19-teens. Also the corner area at Rosalind there now, was there then and this isn’t that.

This postcard is part of the Swampy’s Florida collection.
