This 1951 postmarked postcard is of the former Solarium that once was one the east side of Lake Estelle in Orlando. Folks would swim and have a beach-like area to go to inland. I’ve heard many stories about the fun folks had here. The area now has homes in it’s place.

I wonder how many fishing trips today include young folk?
The image above was not uncommon decades ago. The state had many roadside picnic areas. Those now almost entirely gone. Gets in the way of roadside food chains, y’know.
Even our state parks have backed away from picnics, providing less areas to drape a checkered cloth.
Picnicking was once a great way for families to gather with homemade goodies and share their food and time.
