Swampy scarfs a few hoagies in honor of ‘Eat a Hoagie Day’. Locations for hoagies can be spotty across the state. there are far more in southeast Florida likely due to the large amount of people originally from the northeast, where hoagies originated from.
One of the longest lasting places to get hoagies in Florida is at ‘Sonny’s Famous Steak Hoagies’ in Hollywood. Sam Nigro opened his Sonny’s Sandwich Shop in 1958. Fifty six years later Sonny’s is still owned by the Nigro family and creates the sandwiches with bread made on the property and much else from scratch.
