The Lake Eustis Christian Church was built in 1894 and sits at the corner of Center Street and Orange Avenue in Eustis.

1894 is prominently a part of the marble above the doorway of the church.

The Buffalo Soldiers came into Florida in 1898 with Teddy Roosevelt’s Rough Riders to camp in Lakeland and Tampa before the trip to Cuba to fight in the Spanish-American War. The Buffalo Soldiers were an all black outfit of the U.S. Army first assembled July 28th, 1866.
