Trilby finds he must go undercover to evade Haywood’s hunger during Bird Feeding Month. Sharing cherry pie is not an option considered by Trilby.
A nearly hidden secret in Eau Galle is Joan’s Perfect Pies. I’ve had a number of the goodies created at their establishment. The bakery spot is best known for their cherry pies. Next time you visit Eau Galle, make a stop at Joan’s Perfect Pies for a cherry pie!

An oddity of a postcard of Bok Gardens in Lake Wales. Anyone who knows Bok Tower knows there is no road in front of the pond by the tower. To properly place a bus in front of the tower it was disproportionally sized to fit the postcard image area. Terrific job of splicing it all together, despite the surrealistic result.
The postcard was mailed January 6th, 1942 from Zephyrhills from Mattie Loomis to Mrs. Bates in Beloit, Wisconsin. Matte apologizes to “Dear friend” for not getting “at in time” to mail Christmas cards. She comments that she has experienced “The first cold spell we have had so far, yet no frost.”
Trilby celebrates with his typical gator-stack of pancakes, topped with a healthy, heaping pile of grits and topped with sausage links.
He’s on a mild diet. So, no whipped cream and chocolate chips this time.
A favorite hot breakfast stop for Swampy is Oscars Restaurant. Their breakfast buffet is perfect for swamp apes and always hungry alligators. Swampy also likes to stroll the restaurant and see all the old photos and memorabilia throughout the location.
