Logging was the business to be in throughout the Florida Panhandle through the later 1800s and early 1900s. This postcard depicts a train that has gathering cut trees to be taken to one of the few sawmills scattered across the area.

This area sure looks different today. Bunch of hotels to the left of this image now. Also the public doesn’t have the free and fun access that was one along this boardwalk area. This is back when this was a family friendly area. Pretty far from that now with a lot of bars and drug-smoke shops a block away. Free parking has become some $20, with time limits.
